John Bolton

Visiting Professor

John works across the UK as a consultant on efficiency and effectiveness within health and social care. He was formerly director of community services at Coventry City Council and strategic finance director at the Department of Health.

Appointed visiting professor with IPC in 2000, John is also the appointed adviser to the Local Government Association’s Adult Social Care Efficiency Programme (ASCEF). He sits on the advisory panel for the Economics of Social and Health Care Research Unit (ESHCRU).

John has published a range of articles and papers on efficiency in adult care, and on outcomes-based commissioning.
