Commissioning and Purchasing

As a commissioner you need to shape services based on joint strategic assessment of future needs and within available resources. At the same time you want to maintain good relationships with your service providers, provide patients and services users with choice and control over their care, and achieve positive outcomes.

This four-day course will give you and your partner agencies an excellent opportunity to develop your understanding of the commissioning process and good commissioning practice. It also explores the links between strategic, locality and individual commissioning.

We regularly bespoke this course to focus on commissioning children’s services, adults’ services or substance misuse services as well as programmes appropriate for local authorities or clinical commissioning groups.
