In 2015 the Care Council commissioned IPC to develop five core training modules to support implementation of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014. Each module contains material at two levels:
- Level A material: awareness raising material for the wider workforce. As a minimum each module contains a summary Word document and a PowerPoint overview.
- Level B material: in-depth material directed at those whose roles are most affected. Each module contains a Word training module, associated handouts and a PowerPoint presentation.
Additional supporting documents such as case studies and exercises are also provided to support each module.
Introduction and general functions
The Level A materials provided in the first module provide an overview of the Act as a whole, as well as Part 2 of the Act, General Functions. They include summaries of the key messages and are suitable for all roles across the sector to offer an overview of the key changes.
The more detailed Level B learning materials are for those whose roles are most affected by the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act. They are designed to help them implement the change.
Supporting materials are provided in the form of case studies, exercises and handouts support the Introduction and General Functions training module.
