Data and cyber security best practice webinars - register now

The Adult Social Care Data and Cyber Security Discovery Programme was funded by the national cyber security programme to explore how the adult social care sector uses technology and to identify good practice, as well as security risks, prevalent in the sector. Read the programme report.

Recommendations from the programme are to be shared with care providers and local commissioners via a webinar hosted by the LGA, with a choice of two dates. The webinar will share the approach and findings of this work, alongside recommended actions for best practice.

IPC has been working collaboratively with the Local Government Association, Care Provider Alliance and Department of Health and Social Care over the last six months on this discovery programme to help build a better understanding of how data and cyber security can be strengthened across the adult social care sector. As part of this programme, IPC was commissioned to undertake on-site research with 70 care providers across North Yorkshire, Central Bedfordshire and the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

Commented IPC Assistant Director, Fiona Richardson, who will host the webinars “This session will be critical for adult social care providers, as it highlights current best practice in our IT systems and data security. It is central to safeguarding people's data now and in the future, in this sector.”
