Future Leaders Programme for Directors of Children’s Services
IPC is part of a consortium of children’s social care and professional development organisations recently awarded a £3m government contract to train the next generation of Directors of Children’s Services (DCS) and support newly appointed leaders. The bid was submitted to the Department for Education’s Future Leaders Programme for Directors of Children’s Services by The Staff College, as part of the children’s services leadership consortium. Other key groups include Gatenby Sanderson, a people intelligence business advising public services, and Skills for Care, a strategic body for workforce development in social care in England.
IPC Director, Keith Moultrie commented, “We look forward to working with our consortium colleagues, and leaders in the sector, to develop and deliver a programme which is tailored to the circumstances we face over the next few years and which will support leaders to deal with challenges and seize opportunities in the immediate and long-term future.”
The consortium’s model focuses strongly on the impact that leadership has on high-quality children’s services, as well as a strong emphasis on learning and collaboration to ensure the practical realities of the DCS role are always at the forefront of any proposed activity
