New National Social Care Category Strategy launched by LGA
IPC has welcomed the publication of guidance from the LGA which offers support to commissioners and providers to work together to deliver the best outcomes for people receiving social care services.
A number of organisations were asked to comment on the strategy, including IPC. The National Social Care Category Strategy is intended to support council procurement in social care by promoting partnership working with providers in an equal and co-operative way, in line with the requirements of the Care Act.
The approach outlined helps to build on the procurement aspect of the IPC commissioning model and includes the model developed by IPC.
The new strategy can be found on the LGA website.
