Julia Whyard

During 15 years’ at IPC, Julia has led on a wide range of research, consultancy and training projects across adult’s and children’s services for local authorities, the NHS and other commissioner and provider organisations. Julia also brings extensive experience of working in business planning and development roles across the public, voluntary and commercial sectors including an NHS foundation trust, a social sciences institute and a European network of financial advisors.

Julia works with clients to improve services through the development of effective organisational cultures and leadership and management styles, supporting health and social care collaboration and integration and developing front line practice. She has produced a number of publications to support and influence the development of good practice in service delivery including work to identify the risk and protective factors for older people being admitted into institutionalised care, and the care and support needs of Merchant Navy Veterans across the UK.

Julia is a qualified coach and skilled facilitator and teacher. She oversees our Postgraduate Certificate in Strategic and Operational Leadership in Social Care and is regularly involved in workforce development programmes to facilitate cultural change. Having studied a Masters in Consulting and Leading in Organisations with a focus on psychoanalytic and systemic theory, Julia has a particular interest in exploring and understanding the unconscious processes that affect organisational systems.
