Better Security, Better Care - support programme

The impact of COVID-19 has meant more reliance on technology, and in this digital age it’s vital that people’s information is kept secure. Have you assessed how safe your confidential information is? Are you clear on good practice to keep both paper and digital records secure?

NHSX is funding a national programme of support for the sector called Better Security, Better Care to help you think about what you need to do to protect your organisation’s confidential information.

A new version of the data security and protection toolkit (DSPT) that’s specifically designed for adult social care providers launched in November 2020. The DSPT is a useful guide and self-assessment tool that can help your organisation keep people’s confidential information safe. It can also help a care provider to demonstrate that it meets CQC expectations of good data security practice. IPC helped to design the new version of the DSPT and have recorded 6 webinars for providers of adult social care to help you register on, and complete, the toolkit. Watch these webinars.
