Market Shaping to Support Individual Purchasing of Care

Paper | July 2016

This paper is intended to help local authorities and providers of care and support to think through what market-shaping means in terms of people who purchase their own care and support. It explores what commissioners, social workers (or those involved in the assessment, support planning and review process) and providers can do to understand and shape the market so that the needs of people who purchase services can be met and they are able to make informed decisions about their care.
