Dr Mamdooh Alzyood specialises in infection prevention control practices with ten years of research experience in health and life sciences. He has an extensive range of experience in working with partners, particularly health colleagues.

He completed qualitative research projects and published literature review and method papers in peer-reviewed journals as part of his PhD programme at Oxford Brookes University. His PhD focused on exploring experiences from patients concerning prompting staff handwashing in the hospital settings.

Since joining IPC, Mamdooh has completed rapid research reviews for the King Baudouin Foundation Research on positive transition to adulthood for vulnerable young people and for the Thriving Babies project. He became more interested in research on vulnerable parents and healthy, positive transition for young people to adulthood.

Mamdooh is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), hold a postgraduate certificate in teaching in higher education, researcher, author, and confident bilingual researcher and interviewer in English and Arabic. Mamdooh is a member of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust (NHS), Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), British Infection Association (BIA), and Royal Microscopical Society (RMS).
