Housing for older people in Wales: a sector review of sheltered housing

Report | January 2017

This report explores the current position with sheltered housing in Wales and recommends how providers, local authorities and regional partnerships can make the best strategic use of this asset and ensure it contributes to the delivery of outcomes for older people.

The recently published report of the Expert Group on Housing an Ageing Population in Wales, highlighted how “it makes good policy sense to get housing right for our ageing society. Better quality and suitably located housing can make it possible for people to live at home for longer; it has the potential to create more resilient and connected communities and should be seen as a key component in delivering the vision set out in the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015.”

We are delighted to be able to contribute to this agenda through the latest in our market sector reviews.
