Workforce development and people whose behaviour challenges

Evidence review | November 2012

The workforce is our greatest asset when delivering care and support. Identifying what are the workforce factors that contribute to positive outcomes for people who behaviour challenges is of critical importance. Also required is continuous reflection on the way in which we commission that workforce, and, provide learning and development opportunities that challenge and inspire people to deliver better care and support now and in future.

This evidence review was commissioned by Skills for Care as part of a wider piece of work focused on workforce commissioning and people whose behaviour challenges. By improving employers` knowledge and understanding of the evidence about what works, and what does not in terms of the social care workforce, this review aims to support better informed commissioning and delivery of services.
