Free Academic Partnership webinar. Dementia: Research into Practice

Agenda:

IPC is pleased to host a free webinar for Academic Partners (and at a fee of £60 plus VAT for non members) interested in new research into dementia prevention, care and support.

Visiting Research Fellow Dr Melanie Henwood and Associate Consultant Philip Provenzano will present key findings from a recent IPC review of research into dementia prevention, timely diagnosis and support.

Too often a diagnosis of dementia is seen as a counsel of despair, but is this the right response? Delegates can explore and hear about the opportunities to reduce the risks of dementia, and how best to support people living with dementia, and their family carers. What do we really understand about what it is like to live with dementia, and how can we give meaning to the idea of ‘dementia friendly communities? There will be facilitated group discussions, providing an opportunity to share good practice, insights and working solutions.

At this early stage, we would also like to invite Academic Partners to let us know by 15 March 2024 if they have any innovative practice that they would like to share during the webinar. Are you developing new models of support or early intervention around dementia support, and what has driven your decisions? Has the Accelerating Reform Fund supported your ambitions to scale up and embed innovation? We would be delighted to hear from you!
