We’re Hiring: Consultant and/or Senior Consultant
The Institute of Public Care is expanding, and we’re looking for experienced consultants to lead our knowledge exchange projects.
The Roles
We’re recruiting for both Consultant (Grade 10) and Senior Consultant (Grade 11) positions. In these roles, you’ll lead projects that make a real difference to people’s lives. Your work will include:
- Leading applied research and evaluation projects
- Facilitating stakeholder meetings and workshops
- Conducting interviews with senior leaders and practitioners
- Designing surveys and analysing data
- Delivering training sessions and presentations
- Writing reports that inform policy and practice
- Managing relationships with commissioners and providers
You’ll work on multiple projects simultaneously, partnering with local authorities, NHS trusts, government bodies, charities and commercial organisations. The variety is genuinely exciting, and no two days are the same.
What We’re Looking For
These roles require strong communication and problem-solving skills, combined with active interest in and experience of UK public care (health, adult social care, children and families’ services, or supported housing).
We’re particularly interested in applications from people who have either:
- Experience of consultancy or evaluation in the UK public care sector, OR
- Been involved in programmes of change, transformation or commissioning within mental health, learning disability, older people’s or children and families’ services
If you’re an experienced public care professional looking to pursue your career in a different direction – delivering applied research, evaluation, consultancy and training within the sector you’re committed to – this could be the perfect opportunity.
How to Apply
For an informal discussion about the role, please email ipc@brookes.ac.uk and we’ll arrange a call to answer your questions.
To apply formally, please submit your CV and a personal statement demonstrating how you meet the requirements in our person specification. Please clearly state which role(s) you’re applying for.
Closing date: 5 March 2026
Interviews: Week commencing 16 or 23 March 2026
