We are thrilled to introduce the new Webinar Series, exclusively for IPC Academic Partners in 2024/2025 including: 

Residential Placements Operating Without Regulation - 5th December 2024 10-11.30am

We hear regularly from children’s services commissioners who are struggling to meet the needs of some of the most complex young people. They are concerned about being forced to use unregulated placements as a last resort, due to the lack of appropriate, viable and affordable regulated placements. Minimising the frequency and negative impact of these placements is a key challenge.

Delivered in conjunction with children’s commissioners in the West Midlands region, this webinar will be highly interactive with opportunities to share and compare best practice. 

This webinar is available to academic partners and commissioning course alumni with service improvement and commissioning responsibilities in local authorities as well as children’s commissioning.

 

This webinar is an opportunity to hear about Oxfordshire’s experiences of implementing a community research network.  IPC has been working with Oxfordshire colleagues (including local authority, health, academic and community partners) to identify what has worked well during their first year of implementation.  Speakers to be confirmed.

This workshop will consider the skills, behaviours and arrangements that support organisational and / or system-wide commissioning practices in order to achieve better outcomes and value for money.  This approach has never been more critical, yet we continue to hear that commissioning arrangements can be fractured, often exacerbated by increasing workload pressures.

IPC has recently been involved in the delivery and / or evaluation of a number of commissioning workforce development programmes which aim to create a more collective approach to commissioning across an organisation or system.

This workshop will share IPC’s findings, reflections and observations, as well as providing an opportunity for commissioners to share their experiences and reflections for developing a system-wide approach to effective commissioning arrangements.

The way public services are procured and purchased is changing. The Procurement Act 2023 aims to revolutionise the regulations that govern how the public sector spends money and buys services. Similarly, the new Provider Selection Regime has changed the way healthcare services can be commissioned and purchased in the UK.

This webinar aims to provide an overview of each of these new pieces of legislation, and work with attendees to consider how this impacts our professional practice going forward, including opportunities for innovation.

On 12th September, 2024, the Cabinet Office announced that the Procurement Act 2023 will now commence on 24th February – giving additional time for the new National Procurement Policy Statement (NPPS) to be produced. This webinar will be delivered a month post the launch date in order to provide any clarity or support around the new regulations, but also hear from attendees about how the new regulations have already influenced or changed their purchasing practices so far.
