Commissioning and Purchasing

Course Overview

Our popular commissioning course equips commissioners in health and social care with the skills to implement the national agenda and develop best practices. Combining theoretical learning with practical examples, it covers the entire commissioning process to help you deliver quality, value-for-money services.

Through virtual group sessions and independent learning activities, you will explore essential topics such as the national commissioning agenda, the IPC framework, promoting equality and inclusion, collaborative commissioning, needs analysis, and systems mapping. Additionally, you’ll gain practical skills in market shaping, outcome-based commissioning, personalised services, and effective purchasing and contracting.

The course is offered as eight half-day online sessions or four full-day face-to-face sessions, both priced at £850 per person. Both formats include the same high-quality group learning experience from the same tutors. This postgraduate level short course is aimed at people with some working knowledge and experience of commissioning.

Accreditation

For those seeking formal recognition, the course offers an optional accreditation award from Oxford Brookes University, worth 20 CATS credits at the postgraduate level. To achieve this, participants must attend additional support sessions and complete a work-based assessment. This accreditation, available for an extra fee of £540 per person, contributes significantly to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and enhances career prospects in the public care sector.

Please note our Cancellation and Non-Attendance Policy applies to all bookings.
