The new Children’s Social Care National Framework

The Department of Education has recently published their new Children’s Social Care National Framework which forms part of their response to the consultation launched alongside their reform programme described in ‘Stable Homes Built on Love’.

The new National Framework describes the outcomes that local authorities will be expected to achieve for children, young people, and families. A new Dashboard will sit alongside to monitor quality and consistency of practice. Statutory guidance is expected by the end of the year.

IPC is working with Foundations to support the implementation of the Framework. We are undertaking an audience research project about what helps and hinders the adoption of evidence-based approaches in service design, commissioning and the development of practice models to support children and families. The findings of our research will help Foundations to design Practice Guides that will sit alongside the new Framework.

If you are involved in commissioning and service design, please fill in our short online survey to tell us how you use evidence in decision making and what support you require to implement evidence-based practice.
