Evaluation of Emotional Me Pilot – Wiltshire County Council

Emotional Me is a new, evidence-informed programme developed by KCA Training to
support emotional regulation, resilience, and wellbeing in children and young people. As
part of the programme, teachers receive training and resources, including lesson plans, to
support its delivery in schools.

In 2025, Wiltshire Council funded a pilot programme, which saw Emotional Me
implemented in 18 schools across the county, including three secondary schools. IPC was
commissioned to independently evaluate the programme’s feasibility, as well as the views
of teachers and pupils on its content.

Our mixed-methods evaluation, which included a survey and interviews with teachers and a
short questionnaire for children, found that the programme was well aligned with schools’
ambitions to support children’s emotional health and wellbeing and could be implemented
successfully. Children also reported positive views of the programme content.
Following the success of the first pilot, Wiltshire Council decided to extend the programme
for a second year, with 31 schools. IPC continues to provide the independent evaluation.
