This document summarises findings from a 3-year mixed-method evaluation (2018-2021) of the Adoption Support Fund in England undertaken approximately 6 years after it was established by the Department for Education (DfE) to meet the therapeutic needs of children who left care through adoption or a Special Guardianship Order (SGO). The evaluation included: a three-wave longitudinal survey of adoptive parents and special guardians relating to a child receiving ASF support; qualitative longitudinal interviews with a sample of these adoptive parents and special guardians; and longitudinal interviews with and a survey of ASF provider organisations.
