Evaluation of 3 new 'edge of care' services for children and families

In the year ending 31st March 2021 there were 80,850 looked after children in England (Gov.Uk, November 2021) – an all-time high.

The numbers of children going into care is rising. The recently published Independent Review of Children's Social Care May 2022, is calling for "more responsive, respectful and effective support" delivered by multi-disciplinary teams. This paper outlines 3 evaluations of new ‘edge of care’ services demonstrating the value of working in this way to help families care for their children at home and prevent family breakdown.
