Dr Melanie Henwood OBE is a health and social care researcher with considerable experience of health and social care integration and the interface between services, particularly in areas such as hospital discharge, continuing health care, and self funders. She has particular interests in qualitative research; understanding people’s experiences and giving a voice to their stories.
Melanie has held various visiting fellowship positions, and has been a specialist adviser on multiple inquiries by the House of Commons Health Select Committee. As well as being an IPC Visiting Research Fellow, Melanie is also an associate of the Health Services Management Centre at the University of Birmingham. She was a board member of the General Social Care Council from 2002-2010 (Vice Chair from 2008).
